SUMMARY:Suffolk Open Studios Winter Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:A stunning purpose-built space\, 33 metres long\, in the middle of glorious land close to the River Alde and full of natural light. \nStarted in London in 2006\, printroom studio exhibits here and online at www.printroom.studio . \nPrintroom selects work of the highest quality by a wide range of innovative and challenging artists. The artists range from recent graduates to the mature and well established\, an international selection they are currently from USA\, Australia\, Spain\, Ireland\, and the UK. There is a library and sitting area where you can browse through books and periodicals about printmaking. \nPrintroom is owned and directed by Monica Petzal. Monica trained as a painter at the Royal College of Art in the late 1970s\, as an art historian at the University of Sussex and more recently as a printmaker at Camberwell College of Art. She has worked as a tutor in art schools\, a critic\, including a long stint at Time Out and for 14 years as the Director of the Foundation for Women’s Art. \nThis exhibition will be curated by Monica is association with Suffolk Open Studios and will select a cohesive body of work of a high standard. The opening times are: \nOpening evening Friday 12th November then Sat 13th\, Sun 14th\, Fri 19th\, Sat 20th\, Sun 21st\, Fri 26th\, Sat 27th and Sunday 28th November 2021. Other times possible by appointment.

SUMMARY:Group Exhibition at The Apex
DESCRIPTION:The Apex Gallery is located upstairs in the Apex theatre. It is a fantastic gallery space with room for a wide variety of artwork. You can bring up your drinks from the café downstairs to drink in the surroundings of some fabulous art. \nThe exhibition is called “Collection”\, which is made up of work from 6 Suffolk artists including myself. The artists exhibiting are as follows (linked to their websites): \nKlair Bauly \nKlair’s work at the Apex showcases her recent collection of stillness collage and a series of Giclee prints of abstracted landscapes.  \nJo Clavier \nAbstract expressionist paintings\, some inspired by remnants of frescoes in Pompeii\, some by layers of peeling paint on an old door\, and some by the costal landscape \nMiranda Grayling \n “Always an element of surprise when I pull gorgeous colours onto Japanese rice paper and add a simple motif. All artworks are originals.” \nMarina Jacobs \nMarina’s artwork at The Apex is from her Autumn Leaves collection. \nMarian Lishman \nMy collection for the exhibition is my most recent abstract expressionist work with mark making\, bringing together colours and shapes. \nMandy Renton (Budgerigardener) \nMandy’s Apex Collection features a range of bird and wildlife subjects but her next exhibition in May – ‘Preen’ at The Craft House\, Woodbridge – will be all about the feathers. \n\nThe exhibition is open at all times when the venue is open – so whenever there are events happening in the theatre or the café is open during the day\, you can go up and have a look. \nIf you are interested in buying anything then one of us may be on hand\, otherwise you can ask the staff at the box office.
